Come to the Manger: The Christmas Story in the Gospels
Each evangelist unfolds the mystery of Jesus’ coming in his own particular way and all four offer a perspective on what Jesus said and did during his public ministry, especially during his passion and death. Only Matthew and Luke fill out the picture of Jesus’ earthly life with snapshots of his early years. The few chapters that make up the birth and infancy scenes (and one view of Jesus at age twelve) have had a huge impact and influence disproportionate to their length. This short course looked at these accounts of Jesus birth and infancy and asked the question: how fully have we grasped the implications of the Incarnation?
