I am a Eucharistic minister for over 20 years now, so visiting many people over that time it has always amazed me that when the sick and elderly receive Holy Communion even if they are suffering with dementia its like a light switch has been turned on and they remember.

Today I went to a nursing home to visit 3 Catholic gentlemen one of them also had his wife as a resident there he said she is a Catholic too but wanderers around all day in the home. I asked if he thought she would like to receive holy communion he said to try so she joined us she was very happy dancing around she received Holy Communion then told her husband she loved him and gave him a kiss. I had to hold back the tears. God was surely present.
