A Prayer for Light

Lord, let me be still and at peace, just for a few moments, in the busy-ness of my day. Let me be attentive to where I have been and where I am headed. And let me see where you have been present in my life today. Amen. Image: a man walking along a path

The second step of the examen is asking God for light to show where he has been present in the experiences of my day. This prayer could be used or adapted during the examen or prayed at other times. 

Lord,

let me be still

and at peace, 

just for a few moments,

in the busy-ness

of my day.

Let me be attentive 

to where I have been

and where I am headed.

And let me see where

you have been present

in my life 

today.

Amen.
