Offering that I may work for the kingdom

Divine Master and Saviour
Who came into this world
To preach the good news to the poor
Heal the sick
Comfort the persecuted
And raise the humble
And who yourself worked as a manual labourer
In total obscurity
For most of your life
If it is your will
May I too have the honour
Of working in obscurity
For and among the poor and the hungry
The persecuted and the suffering of this world
All who hunger and thirst after justice
For these are the privileged of your kingdom
And the chosen of your heart.
