Psychology and Spirituality
‘To care for others we must care for or ourselves. To care for ourselves we must care for others.’
We are challenged today to live with the ordinary demands of modern living. Modern psychological therapies are now using ancient contemplative practices to deal with anxieties and depression. Most of these practices have come from Buddhism, yet Christianity has a long tradition of contemplative prayer.
This weekend workshop will look at how an understanding gained from current psychological therapies may sit with Christian spiritual practices in order to nurture growth, care for ourselves and others, and also be a place to find God in our lives.
