Manresa Link Prayer Guide Basic Training Course
The Saturday sessions consist of:
- A short prayer time.
- An input on some aspect of Ignatian Spirituality e.g. Listening skills; What are we listening for? Images of God; The place of desire; Consolation and Desolation; Discernment; Supervision; Safeguarding; Organising an Individually Guided Retreat.
- The most important parts of the session are triads: groups of three plus a member of the team. These take about one hour. It is important to attend all sessions. Refreshments are provided.
The two weekends:
- Each participant gives a retreat during one weekend and makes one during the other. Individual and group supervision is also given.
- These weekends take place at St Mary’s Convent. In order to get most out of the weekends it can be arranged to be resident on the weekend that you are being given a retreat. It may be possible for some participants to be resident on both weekends if necessary. All meals are included.
The cost of the whole course will be £200, including the 2 weekends. This can be offered in weekly instalments when the course has started. For anyone who cannot afford this, it may be possible to receive a bursary for the course from Manresa Link. We do not wish to exclude anyone due to financial reasons.
It is necessary to have made an individually guided Ignatian retreat either in daily life or residentially prior to following the course. It is possible to arrange a retreat with a Manresa Link Prayer Guide if requested.
