Handel's Messiah: Part II Passion and Easter

Saturday 21 Mar 2020 (10:30am - 5:00pm)
Published on 12 Aug 2019

Handel’s Messiah is one of the most frequently performed and recorded pieces of music. It has an appeal and intensity which, in the nearly 200 years since its first performance, has made it the classical expression of the story which is the foundation of Christian belief.

These workshops, the first on Part I on the Christmas message, the second on Parts II/III the Easter message, will explore the music and the spirituality of the Messiah. There will be an opportunity to sing and perform excerpts and to discover the significance of the music under expert tuition.

All are welcome. You do not have to be a musician or even able to read music to participate.

Each workshop will conclude with a short performance of the music studied during the day to which family members are welcome.
