Amazing the number of times we might get annoyed with people who don't thank us for doing something.

Maybe because it is bad manners, or because we feel like they've not noticed the effort we've made, or maybe because they take us for granted. Yes, some people are caught up in their own lives and forget to say thank you. However, a few times recently I've had the opposite occur, when someone says thank you, and you know they are genuinely grateful, but it is something you did without needing or expecting thanks. This spirit of giving is in all of us, every day, whether we are aware of it or not. God is there in our impulse to help others, in little actions of love and care or in the moments of greater self-sacrifice, helping us to do good.
